As some of you may already know, I'm a big fan of an old JRPG known as
I first experienced it at the age of 7, on my first computer
The music, the theme, the artwork, and last but not least the story, it all encapsulated me at once. There is so much nostalgia I have towards this game, one of my most memorable games I've ever played and an extremely important part of my childhood. It may not seem that interesting to the average gamer, but the amount of lore and exposition that has yet to be released/was supposed to release but never did is also part of what keeps me intrigued in this game.
Many others who also happened to play this game growing up (and evidently forgot about it) don't really know much about all the lore that surrounds this game, for example, this game is part of what's known as the 'Dept. Heaven series', which is a series of 9 games, but only 7 of those games actually released, Riviera being one of them, all of these games take place in the same universe, but Riviera is the only one that gave the most exposition & information concerning the actual world of the whole Dept. Heaven series, the rest, such as Gungnir, Nights in the Nightmare, Gloria Union, etc. barely touch on as much as Riviera did.
The Whole Dept. Heaven series seems to have been mostly abandoned by Sting Entertainment, no new content aside from their psp and very recent nintendo switch remastered release.
